Until the cake is gone . . .

Standard

I will continue to celebrate my birthday!
Take that, world.

That said, yes, I am aware that it is 2am, I am awake and eating CAKE.

Please, take note, in case you didn’t know or forgot . . .
McDonald’s sells cakes and they are yummy.

Screw the hat. Screw the games.
Just gimme the cake!

  1. Oh… honey…

You can celebrate long after the cake is gone.

Having had a child, I can tell you that the “new arrival” celebration lasted far beyond the calendar date that my daughter first made her appearance.

When I have my birthday celebrations (even when they are by myself), I not only celebrate “this is when I took my first breath”, but also “this was my first sunrise” and “this was my first full day”…

Because, really, this is a New Year, for you. And I never thought that concept should be contained within one small collection of hours. It takes most of us (at the least) days to change our minds… so why should we change our calendars any more quickly?
